What the Front Range Asks of a Kitchen
The Front Range runs from the high plains into the foothills, and the homes along it range from historic Denver streets to mountain properties above Evergreen and new construction across Douglas County. A kitchen designed well for one of these settings will not automatically suit another, so luxury kitchen design here starts with the house and the place it stands.
Altitude
Much of the corridor sits around a mile high or above. Water boils at a lower temperature, which changes cooking, and gas cooking appliances are commonly set up for high altitude according to the manufacturer's instructions. Appliance selection and ventilation are planned with that in mind.
Dry air and strong sun
Colorado's semi-arid climate and dry winter air ask a lot of solid wood, so custom cabinetry is detailed to allow for seasonal movement. Sunlight at altitude is intense, which matters for finishes near large windows and for the way stone and wood read across the day. How light changes a kitchen covers the design side of this.
Views to the west
For many homes the mountains are to the west, which brings the view and the afternoon glare together. Window placement, island orientation and lighting integration are resolved with both in mind.
One process, many settings
How a Front Range Kitchen Project Begins
Every project starts with a conversation about the property, its architecture and the way the household lives and cooks. From there the work follows the same seven stages wherever the house stands: discovery, concept, design development, documentation, craft, installation and completion. The full process describes each one.
What changes from place to place is the brief. A high-rise kitchen in Denver comes with building rules about working hours, freight access and where plumbing can move. A mountain home in Evergreen brings winding roads, snow and very dry air. A renovation in Littleton or Highlands Ranch begins by surveying the existing structure, while new construction in Castle Rock rewards bringing the kitchen into the drawings before framing.
Each area page explains those local considerations in more depth, with answers to the questions homeowners ask most often in that market. Wherever the house is between Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, the first step is the same: tell us about it.
Questions
Service Area Questions
Which areas does Luxury Kitchens serve?
Luxury Kitchens works along Colorado's Front Range, from Colorado Springs and the Tri-Lakes area north through Douglas County and the Denver metro area to Boulder, Longmont, Loveland and Fort Collins.
My town is not listed. Can you still help?
Possibly. The areas listed are the main markets along the corridor rather than a complete list. Begin a conversation and include the location of the property.
Do you work on both new construction and renovations?
Yes. New construction allows the kitchen to shape the architecture from the start, while a renovation begins with a careful survey of the existing structure, services and openings. The process explains each stage.
